Learn what you have to do to register. 3Help your teen look for a summer job by helping create a résumé. 4Help your teen make the link between freedom and responsibility. 5Teach your teen about investing.  Start imaginary $1,000 'stock portfolios' for each of you. 6Do your research on investing together.  What companies should you 'invest' in? 7Take your teen out for breakfast, or fix a favorite breakfast together at home.
8Let your teen choose what's for dinner - and work together to prepare it. 9Talk about trust with your teen.  What makes someone worthy of trust? 10Talk with your teen about friendship.  What makes a good friend? 11Visit the library together and explore a new section, then each choose a book to read.  12Do you know who your teen chats with online?  Find out. 13Work on a big project around your house with your teen - clean out a closet or build a bookshelf. 14Have an old-fashioned picnic with your teen.
15Have your teen keep math skills sharp by keeping statistics on a baseball game. 16Imagine you and  your teen each had three wishes - what would you wish for? 17Look for a volunteer activity you and your teen can do together this summer. 18Memorize a poem with your teen.  Recite it at dinner. 19Watch a sporting even with your teen.  Choose a player or team to learn more about. 20Do your know your teen's friends?  Invite them over for pizza or popcorn. 21Take your teen out for ice cream.
22Let your teen take over grocery shopping for a week - you provide the list, budget and funds. 23Help your teen write a letter to your mayor or other elected leader. 24Is your teen starting a new school?  Perhaps you can take a tour before school starts. 25Can your teen read a map?  Get a road map and turn over the planning of a trip. 26Ask your teen what happened at work (or at home) today.  Share a work story of your own. 27Make it a point to meet the parents of your teen's friends.  Exchange phone numbers. 28Get some outdoor exercise with your teen today.
29Tell your teen about your friends from high school.  What did you do together? 30Share your high school yearbook with your teen, and then look at your teen's yearbook together. 31Many clubs and activities start before school begins.
Call the school to get the schedule.
